There is no way to describe the incredible attractions and sights you’ll enjoy as we literally circle the northern ½ of Lake Michigan via motor coach. Highlights include Big Spring (Kitch-iti-kipi), a magical crystal clear spring pond fed by over 10,000 gallons of water a minute. We’ll ferry to Mackinaw Island where we’ll enjoy an Island tour by horse drawn wagon. We’ll also be treated to the incredible Grand Hotel lunch buffet. We’ll take a two-hour cruise through the Soo Locks at Sault Ste. Marie, visit the Museum Ship Valley Camp and explore the Point Iroquois Lighthouse. We’ll explore Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the breathtaking beauty of Traverse City, MI. We’ll spend a day at historic Manistee, the “Victorian Port City”. A unique dune buggy tour on and over the spectacular Lake Michigan sand dunes will be an adventure and a trip highlight. A four-hour Lake Michigan crossing aboard the SS Badger Ferry from Ludington, MI to Manitowoc, WI will be the perfect ending to this fantastic vacation. Two great cities and the King of Rock-n-Roll make this a wonderful vacation. Our first stop will be Nashville, the birthplace of country music. In Nashville we’ll enjoy the “Tribute to the King” Elvis impersonator show, Nashville Nightlife’s Country Music Legends Show, and the fabulous Grand Ole Opry show. We’ll also visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and welcome a local guide who will escort us on an exciting tour of Nashville pointing out many points of interest. On our way to Memphis, home of Elvis, we’ll stop by Loretta Lynn’s Ranch and Museum. An unforgettable day at Graceland and a tour of Sun Studios, where Elvis recorded many of his songs, will be trip highlights. We’ll also embark on a very unique “Hound Dog Tour” of Memphis. This tour is led by local musicians who will serenade us with Elvis’ songs, tell entertaining stories about the King, and point out hard-to-find Elvis historical sites. Each spring some of Branson, Missouri’s most popular performers gather for Branson Fest. In the spring of 2024, we will join them for this fun celebration. The facilities at Lions Camp are perfectly suited for our Able Trek Tours family to gather for “Old School” board games, Bingo (with prizes), puzzles, cards, popcorn, movies and fabulous evening entertainment! Take a step back and play those fun childhood games such as Checkers, Go-Fish, Monopoly, Old Maid, Battleship, and so many more. We will not be offering video games on this trip. Horseback riding in the warm Arizona desert, passing cactus, canyons and mountains in the distance – sounds like an old-fashioned western movie. This can be you saddled up and riding off into the sunset! We’ll be guests at Stagecoach Trails Ranch in Yucca, Arizona. Stagecoach Ranch specializes in a barrier-free riding experience for all riding levels with a mounting ramp, gentle, well-trained horse and side-walkers if necessary. Horse-drawn wagon rides can be substituted for horseback rides too. We’ll have the opportunity to go on six or seven 1 ½ hour trail rides during our stay. Riding ability will in part determine the duration and location of rides. We’ll stay in comfortable guest rooms and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, an outdoor heated pool, hot tub, billiards, basketball court, Ping-Pong, a small petting farm, hiking and star gazing. Nightly entertainment will include campfires, line dancing, storytelling, movies, games and cowboy singers. A $500 deposit is REQUIRED by September 1, 2023 to reserve a spot. Experience one of America’s finest metropolitan areas, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, along with the excitement of train travel. We’ll board an AMTRAK train in Wisconsin Dells for a 4 ½ hour excursion to the Twin Cities (our return trip will be by motor coach). We’ll be introduced to the “Cities” by a local step-on guide who will provide us with an entertaining and informative area tour. We’ll enjoy a yet to be determined performance and delicious meal at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. A visit to the Mall of America, where we’ll have seemingly endless shopping possibilities and supper at Bubba Gumps, will be a favorite. This trip will take place at Wisconsin Lions Camp near Rosholt, WI. Lions Camp facilities are perfectly suited for this crafting, art-making, relaxing and entertaining vacation. Dormitory style sleeping facilities with activity rooms and many indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and hang out with fellow Travelers is offered. With guidance from experienced crafters, we’ll create beautiful crafts and works of art that you take home to enjoy and/or give for Christmas gifts. Some of the projects will have holiday themes. We’ll also enjoy an evening of live music with sing-a-longs and dancing, an entertaining evening magician performance and a movie night.
