In 1633 the villagers suffered devastating losses to the Bubonic Plague and the Thirty Years War.  Survivors appealed for Divine Intervention, vowing to God they would perform the Passion Play if they were spared.  They were spared and the village has kept their promise. Once every 10 years over 2000 villagers perform this 6-hour spectacle depicting Christ’s Passion in an open-air stage with Alpine Meadows and towering mountains as a backdrop. We get several calls a year inquiring if we have a trip to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Finally, the answer is YES, WE DO! Lead by the husband and wife team of Reverend Richard and Joyce Johnson we’ll visit much more than these two Kentucky based Biblical attractions. Richard, the long-time pastor at the LaValle Advent Christian Church, and Joyce will enrich this trip with their musical talents and deep faith. Day 1 – travel to Indianapolis where we’ll visit the beautiful Beef-n-Boards Dinner Theater for a performance of Disney’s “Little Mermaid”. Day 2 – spend the day exploring the Ark Encounter. Day 3 – spend the day at the Creation Museum. Day 4 – visit Amish Acres in Nappanee, IN (horse-drawn wagon tour, house & farm tour, “Genesis & Exodus” documentary film, Threshers Dinner and Round Barn Theater performance of “Freaky Friday” – a heartfelt, comedic and emotional musical. WWE Road to Wrestlemania

See professional wrestling warriors such as Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, Apollo Crews, Alexa Bliss, Asuka and many more battle on the WWE Road to Wrestlemania.  We’ll travel to the Target Center in Minneapolis to watch an evening of electrifying elbow drops, foot stomps, and body slams. We’ll switch gears and take in some culture at the beautiful Chanhassen Dinner Theater for a performance of Mama Mia. This jukebox musical combines a fantastic feel-good story with timeless songs from the 1970’s rock/disco group ABBA.  Time for shopping at the Mall of America and lunch at the Mall’s Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory is also included.  Two breakfasts, one lunch and two suppers are included.  Motor coach transportation. Christmas Capers

What a fun day enjoying the Christmas Season! We’ll begin with a wonderful shopping experience at the Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago. This unique store offers signature private label products and the best gourmet sauces, jams & jellies, honey, syrups, spices, mixes, soups and more. It is also noted by Gourmet Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and the Food Network as having “the best pie in America.”

A short drive to Whitewater brings us to the Fuzzy Pig – a hand-renovated barn lovingly converted into a distinct country mall. This 2-story mall features antiques, scented candles, chocolates and hundreds of unique products for your home, including an eclectic giftware selection, rugs, table linens, clocks, pictures, lamps, and more. A delicious home-made chicken pot pie lunch at the Fuzzy Pig restaurant is included.

The Northleaf Winery in Milton is our next stop. Here we’ll enjoy a sit-down tasting of five wines with cheese and crackers and time to shop. At dusk we’ll enjoy a unique Lake Geneva Santa Cruise aboard an enclosed and heated boat that provides extraordinary views of lighted shoreline Christmas displays. Christmas Market & Wreath Factory

The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, WI annually hosts the Old World Christmas Market – one of the American Bus Association’s Top 100 Best Events in North America. Over 100 vendors from the Midwest & several from Germany offer one-of-a-kind Christmas products and collectibles. Songs are sung, holiday foods are served and the atmosphere is as festive as it can be. Lunch at the Market’s Food Court, will be on your own.

We’ll also visit The Wreath Factory in Plymouth, WI where you’ll be treated to a wreath making demonstration and have plenty of time to shop. A stop at Kristmas Kringle Shoppe in Fond du Lac will be a great way to end our day. With over 10,000 square feet of glass ornaments, collectibles, and gifts you’ll surely find a unique Christmas gift or new family heirloom at Kristmas Kringle. Moderate walking.

Jean Bindl will be hosting this motor coach trip to Nashville’s Opryland Resort. We’ve offered many wonderful holiday vacations over the past 26 years. Halloween Mystery Tour

Our Halloween Mystery trip has become an annual tradition. These trips are so much fun and mystifying. We will not repeat any previous year’s attractions but this trip will be just as “spooktacular”. We’ll visit a number of “shadowy” places – some historical, some whimsical, some creative, and some that may send a shiver up your spine. This year’s expert guide is fascinated by and has visited some of the most haunted sites in the country. He will offer up a number of spell-binding stories and help us discover some sinister establishments and locations. Lunch, at a haunted destination, is included. Galena to Blackhawk: The “Ore” of Badger History Tour

GO PLACES AND LEARN STUFF TRAVEL SERIES. A plethora of adventure awaits those who want to discover why Galena is the “ore of Badger History.” Galena is a lead ore; the lead had many uses, including lead shot. Your tour guide is Jill Hunger, geology teacher and producer of the show “Wisconsin: A Walk Thru Time,” for Wisconsin’s Sesquicentennial. We’ll begin with tours of Wisconsin Heights (Blackhawk) Battlefield, and the Tower Hill Shot Tower in Spring Green. Next, we stop in Mineral Point for a Miner’s lunch (included) of Cornish Pasty and Figgy Hobbin for dessert. A stop in Platteville includes a mine car ride, tour of an 1845 lead mine, and exploration of Badger mining history at the Rollo Jameson Museum. We spend the night at the DeSoto House Hotel (famous guests include Presidents Lincoln and Grant), in Galena, Il. After dinner (on your own), Galena historian and storyteller Steve Repp will entertain us with “History and Mystery Stories.”

Day 2 starts with breakfast (included) at the DeSoto House and a guided trolley tour of downtown Galena. Lunch (self-pay) and time for shopping in Galena is planned before we travel north to Villa Louis National Historic Landmark in Prairie du Chien, WI. At Villa Louis we’ll enjoy a guided tour and a presentation by facility director Joshua Wachuta. Our studies will conclude with a discussion of the formation of the Lower Wisconsin River Valley, as we take the “river route” back home. Your trip includes all guides, speakers, activity admissions, transportation, lodging, one lunch and one breakfast. Copies of the Driftless Reader, by Curt Meine, will be available for purchase.
