Pacific Garden Mission
Chicago’s Pacific Garden Mission is the oldest, continuously-operating, rescue mission in the country. Since 1877, Pacific Garden Mission has been a refuge. Millions weary of struggling through life’s storms, have come to the “Old Lighthouse” seeking food, shelter, clothing, medical, and dental care. On our way to Chicago we’ll stop at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. Time to shop in the 280+ stores and have lunch (on own) at any of the numerous restaurants including Rainforest Cage, The Cheese Factory and a large food court is planned. Upon arrival at Chicago’s Pacific Garden Mission we’ll be treated to a guided tour and history presentation about the Mission. Next, we’ll see and hear real life stories come to life as actors, sound effects and music blend together for a live taping of “Unshackled”. An included dinner in Pacific Garden’s dining room will conclude our day at this faithful Mission. $10 of your trip fee will be donated to Pacific Garden Mission. Moderate walking.
